Plain Sight Coffee brings 90s kid nostalgia with Raco Ruiz collection

Last June 21, Plain Sight HQ turned into a hub for creatives and coffee lovers (with their fur babies) as they launched the Snack Attack Coffee and Merch Box, a limited edition collaboration with multi‑purpose artist Raco Ruiz. Visitors got to hang out with Raco himself during a meet‑and‑greet that felt more like catching up with a friend than a formal launch.

Raco has always been known for his bright, chaotic art style inspired by the cartoons and nature documentaries he grew up watching. He’s held solo exhibits and even graced the stage of Graphika Manila, the country’s biggest creative gathering. His work carries that nostalgic energy that instantly resonates with anyone who grew up in the 90s (like me), which makes this collab with Plain Sight Coffee feel extra special.

The Snack Attack collection is a playful mix of coffee and merch inspired by childhood snacks. This includes the Snack Attack coffee blend, pink tie‑dye shirt, keychain, and sticker sheet. At the heart of it all is Dopa the Dopamine Dependent Dalmatian, Raco’s original character that embodies raw happiness and creativity running free. It’s the kind of design that reminds you of cereal boxes when you were a kid or those funny cartoons you’d watch after school!

During the launch, guests got early access to the collab and a chance to try Raco’s signature drink — the Strawberry Yogurt Latte topped with a strawberry wafer stick. It’s sweet, refreshing, and instantly nostalgic, like a childhood snack reimagined for grown‑up coffee breaks. The vibe at Plain Sight HQ was casual and fun, with people lining up not just for coffee but also to chat with Raco, snap photos, and take home pieces of the collab. It’s pet-friendly, too!

Worth the visit if you’re around Mandaluyong, if you ask me. Drop by to see the collection in person.
