Liza Soberano co-creates new ad, named as new Brand Ambassador and Chief Advocacy Officer of Maya
Liza Soberano has been the talk of the town ever since she dropped her vlog entitled “This is Me” on her YouTube channel last Sunday (February 26, 2023), updating fans regarding her decision to call the shots and forge her own career path. While many, myself included, are ecstatic to know what’s next, all-in-one money app Maya made a huge announcement on Monday (February 27, 2023) in relation to this, naming Liza as their newest Brand Ambassador and Chief Advocacy Officer – a legitimate corporate role which makes her the champion for financial inclusivity and the Maya’s key initiatives.
The announcement comes with the launch of the new marketing campaign “My money, my bank, my way” which was also co-created with Liza, breaking the mold of traditional celebrity endorsements, and changing the game for marketing financial services.
Maya’s newest ad features Liza going on a creative pitch featuring crazy ideas and stunts that are far from the roles we used to associate with her on TV. Who would’ve thought that someone who used to have a “sweet girl” image like her would be so excited to use a flamethrower and burn old fashionable clothes?
As Chief Advocacy Officer, Liza also gave a really convincing product talk, showing everyone how thrilled she is to take charge of an imaginative and meaningful partnership that drives financial empowerment, especially with the youth. She even onboarded Save The Children – the world’s leading independence organization for children, to kickstart Maya’s joint initiatives with organizations.
“The past year has given me an opportunity to reflect on what I want for my life and my career. And when it comes to brands, I’ve decided to be more intentional about my partnerships. I want to work with brands that resonate with me personally, with products I actually use, and with companies I believe in,” Liza shares. “I’m excited for everyone to level up their banking experience with me through Maya because I love using their app. On top of that, working with Maya truly feels like a level up for me – it’s a joy to collaborate with them creatively, and I’m excited for the professional challenge of becoming their Chief Advocacy Officer.”
“There’s no greater partner for Maya than Liza,” says Maya Chief Marketing Officer Pepe Torres. “Liza resonates with Maya’s values of defiance and optimism. She has defied conventions for Filipino actresses and taken her career into a bold new direction, reshaping what it means to be successful for this generation.”
Aside from the latest campaign, Maya also offering a consumer savings account that offers easy account opening with just one valid ID, a high-interest rate with daily payout, and customizable personal goals. As an added boost, Maya customers can save with up to 10% daily interest rate per annum, starting March 7, 2023! They’re also the first finance app to offer customers their own @username, making sending money easier vs typing an 11-digit mobile number.
In terms of security, Maya is also 100% legit, regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Deposits are insured up to P500,000 per depositor by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporate (PDIC), too!
I personally think that Maya is a perfect fit, given Liza’s hopes of being more involved in projects. Maya has also collaborated with actor-turned-label executive James Reid and YouTube star Mimiyuuuh in creating fun content for users. I’m stoked to see how Liza will keep this campaign rolling! Proud to see how she’s taking things to the next level with Maya.
