3 Things to watch out for in Maybank’s MOVE to paperless, mobile-optimized banking services

Maybank Philippines, Inc. (MPI), the fourth largest bank by assets within Southeast Asia recently marked another milestone in the Philippine banking industry – a big MOVE towards all things digital!

Catching up with the needs of our fast-paced lives, banks are challenged to empower and encourage their customers by giving them the flexibility of time and opportunities to MOVE – to do more of what they need to do. Maybank caught up with this need and launched their own solution last Thursday (August 9, 2018) through a fast, efficient service, and lifestyle rewards program that contains perks within the digital world.

iSave

Everyone (especially you tech-savvy millennials) can now open a savings account through this online-only account. All forms and documentary requirements can be submitted through the app, hassle-free. Unlike traditional banks, iSave does not require its accountholders to deposit a specific amount of money nor maintain a specific balance in order to keep the account. The best part? This product allows all its users to access their funds in any ATM nationwide for FREE. ATM cards are also delivered to the clients within 3-5 banking days. No need to step out!

Through iSave, accountholders will also be able to access AirAsia offers and earn BIG Points. Included in its features is the capability of opening an account through the bank’s Maybank2U PH app, an all-in-one banking service.

Maybank 2U PH app

Now available on both Google Play and Apple App Store, Maybank 2U PH app allows a paperless transaction with Maybank. This is in support of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) financial inclusion agenda to make banking accessible to more Filipinos. Imagine banking without the need of falling in line because they’re now online! Clients are also given the chance to apply for a credit card and an auto loan from the comfort of their own home.

MOVE: Mobile-Optimized Virtual Experience

To complement the birth of its new digital products and services, Maybank will be rolling out its Maybank Move Store – a pop-up store that will be moving around the country to introduce the bank’s digital capabilities in order to guide those who may have questions about the digital process. In our opinion, this is one of the most efficient, innovative, hip, and fun way to introduce digital banking to the market. Expect more promos, offers, and activities in the next few months!

From what we’ve heard, on-site applicants for an iSave account will get a chance to win Cash Credits up to P10,000 just by dropping by the Move Store. Visitors may also win exclusive Maybank freebies when they participate in the on-ground activities.

Rest assured hat we will revolutionize banking experience in accordance to the constantly evolving trends in the market, which are all inclined to digital adaptability,” said Dexter Go, Head of Virtual Banking.

For Maybank, now is about enriching offerings through digital banking. Our digital approach is centered on four key areas: enriching our customer offerings, investing in strategic capabilities, exploring broadly and understanding deeply, and building and participating in the digital ecosystem; including engaging with regulators, Fintech companies, and global leaders to build truly differentiated digital offerings for our customers,” shared Maybank Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Choong Wai Hong.

Manila Millennial was able to try the mobile banking app during the launch and it really does look promising for something that is only on its early stages. The team assured that the process if very secured and it’s good to note that Maybank is one of the banks that hasn’t experienced glitches in their system in the past few years. They have a team closely monitoring digital transactions to ensure that nothing will be hacked.

Maybank currently has 74 branches nationwide, but it’s also accessible even on foreign land. The team is still working on more features to be added to the app so our concerns even while overseas can easily be addressed without the need of calling them up.
