OPPO Philippines has elevated the standard of mid-range smartphone performance again! After the launch of the OPPO F7 last April with endorsers Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, and Janella Salvador, the Chinese phone manufacturer has recently introduced a toned-down version of the model – the OPPO F7 Youth.
Your Manila Millennial was invited to the launch of the new mobile phone for the youth last Wednesday (May 23, 2018) at OPPO Philippines’ new office in Bonifacio Global City, so we were able to check out the phone in advance and take photos for sharing. Like you, the first question in our mind was about the difference between the OPPO F7 and OPPO F7 Youth. To keep it simple, OPPO F7 Youth has been made more affordable since it lacks some of the features that the OPPO F7 has. Full specifications are provided below but here are notable differences: OPPO F7 Youth doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, it doesn’t come in a 128GB version, it only comes in two colors, and it’s quite smaller.
However, the lack of these features will not be that big of an issue for those who prefer quality photos and sophisticated-looking mobile phones. Priced at P13,990, F7 Youth is already equipped with AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology and the same Helio P60 Octa-Core processor that is 80% faster than current smartphones in its price range, while maintaining 4GB RAM for multitasking and 64GB of storage. Its front camera carries the A.I. Beauty Technology 2.0 that can analyze a person’s features and beautifies each with its improved facial optimization feature. In terms of aesthetics, the Diamond Black design is definitely one of a kind with its triangular-cut patterns that shimmer as they catch light, similar to an elegant diamond.
