Mobile Photowalk: Davao through the lenses of the OPPO Reno8 T

After a week full of cloudy skies and occasional outbursts of rain, getting out of the Metro to experience the sun and breathe in fresh air was all I could think of. Last weekend, I did just that and visited Davao with media friends to test out the camera performance of the OPPO Reno8 T. I have highlighted its specs and microscope lens in my previous posts on my blog and socials but let me focus on camera samples this time.

Here’s a peek at our adventures from exploring the vibrant nightlife at MesAnita and Dusit Thani in Davao City to embracing the waves at Lubi Plantation in Davao de Oro:

Daytime Photography

Davao’s enchanting landscapes and picturesque sceneries were the best subject but I can’t help but include myself in some of the shots just to say that #IMadeIt here! With the OPPO Reno8 T’s 100MP main camera, I was able to capture clear shots with vibrant colors. Some shots tend to have soft edges when zoomed in, but it’s something that slight editing can fix. The AI scene recognition technology was also a big help as it accurately identified the environment I’m in, adjusting the settings accordingly, resulting in effortlessly stunning images.

Whether I was at the lush greenery of Lubi Plantation or amidst the urban architecture of Davao City, the Reno8 T consistently delivered impressive photos.

Picture-perfect Portraits

Suitable for those who regularly need a new photo for the social media icon, this smartphone supports customizable Portrait settings — from the depth of field to beauty effects. The Portrait Mode can also be used on inanimate objects like flowers and animals, too!

The Beauty of Micro-photography

Here comes my favorite part: Do you remember how it felt like when you got your first telescope as a kid? How you’d go to every window just to see how things look at every angle? That’s exactly how we felt like as we placed every interesting-looking item under the OPPO Reno8 T’s microscope camera. It’s like a peek into a world of intricate details and hidden wonders, thanks to its 20x and 40x zoom capabilities. Each zoom level reveals a whole new look, allowing the users to see the tiniest details that are often invisible to the naked eye. Cake looks like an ice berg, sand looks like crystal pieces, flowers look like smooth fabrics, and so on!

Low Light to Nighttime Performance

As the sun began to set, we ventured into Davao City’s peaceful nightlife scene to test the camera performance in low-light conditions. MesAnita restaurant and Dusit Thani provided the ideal testing ground with their dimly lit ambiance and sparkling city lights.

I like pulling the brightness down before taking a shot to emphasize light sources in dimly-lit areas. This is also how I was able to get a clearer sunset shot.

As for the OPPO Reno8 T’s Night Mode, I like using it when people are the subject of the photo!

Other shooting modes include Expert, Panoramic, Time-lapse, Slow-mo, Text scanner, Dual-view, and Extra HD. The OPPO Reno8 T turned out to be a decent mobile photography companion during my Davao trip, showcasing its prowess in both daytime and nighttime photography.

Whether you are an avid traveler, a photography enthusiast, or simply someone who needs an all-rounder device, the OPPO Reno8 T does not disappoint. It retails for Php 18,999 and is still available at authorized OPPO stores and partner dealers nationwide.

As for me, I can’t wait to go back to explore more of Davao!
