TASTE TEST: Jollibee Crisscut Fries (2021 comeback) with 2 NEW dips

It’s been a while since we did a Jollibee taste test on the page so we’re doing a comeback together with the Jollibee Crisscut Fries that is now available again in all Luzon branches! Aside from bringing in two NEW special dips, it’s being endorsed by no other than Filipino actress Liza Soberano, which makes it more appealing. You won’t see Liza cutting potatoes for your Jollibee snack on an ordinary day!

On a serious note, I’m sure everyone is already familiar with what the Crisscut Fries are so we’re going to focus on the new dips. But before that, let me just share that the fries seem bigger now, in my opinion. You’ll really see the crisscut design on each piece so I’d say it’s worth it! There are two dips to choose from:

  • Sour Cream – The classic dip for those who want to play it safe and just chill. It tastes like usual sour cream dips that you’ll find in other restaurants. Excess dip from your fries can be used together with regular chips… or even as a dip for your meal (e.g. hotdogs, shanghai).
  • Spicy Thousand Island – My favorite out of the two! It tastes like a Thousand Island Dressing with a spicy kick that lingers in your mouth. What I like about this is that even though it’s spicy, it won’t make you feel like drinking a lot of water or soda to wash the aftertaste away. It’s just soooo good! Try it if your taste buds are up for an adventure.

I guess the only downside to this snack is that if you don’t eat it right away, the potatoes will end up getting soggy – pretty much like all other fries we’ve tried. The oil tends to bleed through the packaging when not eaten right away, too. All these can be solved by consuming the food ASAP! If you have no choice, popping it in an airfryer for a few seconds will do the trick in bringing back its crispy-ness.

Note: You’re entitled to your own opinion and it’s okay to disagree with us, but we had a really good experience with this year’s Crisscut Fries — both sent as a gift and bought in store.

Overall, considering the number of Crisscut Fries in one serving and the flavorful dips that come with it, I would definitely order this again. TBH, I wish Jollibee can sell big packs of dips! I’ll definitely get a Spicy Thousand Island!

The Jollibee Crisscut Fries is now available in all Luzon Jollibee stores, as well as in stores in Visayas and Mindanao starting November 8, for Php 65 (solo). There’s also a bucket option that’s available for sharing at Php 249 that comes with one (1) free dip of choice. Dip add-ons can also be availed at Php 10 each. For safety, you can place an order via their app, JollibeeDelivery.com, GrabFood, and foodpanda. You can also call #8-7000 or drive-thru a branch near you.
