During stressful days, it’s normal to feel the need to escape for a quick breather. However, since we can’t physically escape due to travel constraints at the moment, turning our environment’s noise off to enjoy the ideal world we want to be in is one of the quickest ways to de-stress. What better way to do so than to drown ourselves in happy music, binge-watch our favorite shows, or talk to our friends through video calls – all of which we can enjoy better with trusty True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds that fit both our budget and lifestyle.
Meet the OPPO Enco W51 – the latest TWS device from OPPO that promises hybrid active noise cancellation, triple-mic noise reduction during calls, and up to 24 hours of playback. We took this device for a test run for almost two weeks and I must say that I am impressed with how well it was able to keep up with everything that I’ve been doing – from meetings for work, quick workout sessions, to chill indoor concerts on my own.
FOR THE HEALTH BUFFS
It can be annoying when earbuds fall off during workout or while taking a quick run outside, so it’s good that the OPPO Enco W51 is ultracompact, lightweight, and it comes with three different eartips to choose from so it can fit anyone’s ears perfectly. The device is designed for ear canal structure with G3 ear curve for a comfortable fit, too! Jumping, running, or walking won’t make it fall off as well even while wearing a cap or dangling earrings.
Even as it started drizzling outside while I’m using the Enco W51, I was confident enough not to remove it from my ears right away since it’s IP54 dust and water resistant – something that protects the device even from sweat.
FOR BUSY BEES ON THE GO
Not everyone has time to spare – and this includes the devices needed on a daily baisis. The Enco W51 only needs around 15 minutes of charging to keep it going for 9 hours straight, while it would need more or less 2 hours for it to be fully charged. For people like me who use earbuds for a few hours daily – during meetings, workouts, and quick leisure breaks, the device can keep up for almost an entire week of use.
Shortcuts or intuitive tap controls are easy to remember – tap left earphone twice for noise reduction, tap right earphone twice for next song, tap once to play/pause the video or audio, and tap three times to activate Voice Assistant. These can also be customized based on the user’s preference, but it’s worth noting that it doesn’t have an auto mute-unmute function.
FOR THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY
Online meetings, sudden calls, or phone interviews? All check! The Enco W51 was able to provide clear audio both for me and the people I’m talking to. I was able to attend meetings without people telling me that I’m not audible. It doesn’t work very well during windy days, though, but I don’t think I’d be taking calls outside that often anyway.
Thanks to its advanced hybrid active noise cancellation feature, it’s also easier for me to focus on what I’m listening to without being bothered by noisy vehicles passing by our street or by the crows of roosters from a few blocks away. The only downside I can think of is that we won’t be able to hear people calling us during an emergency because the noise cancellation feature works well.
FOR THE GAMER AND BINGE-WATCHERS
Of course, millennial lifestyle wouldn’t be complete without gaming and binge-watching movies and series. With this in consideration, an important factor to consider when choosing earbuds is its latency. The Enco W51 has a binaural low-latency Bluetooth transmission for little to no lags when watching videos and playing games. It reduces audio delay so it’s easy to pin-point the smallest changes in the audio – including your enemy’s footsteps – during game time.
It’s also easy to bring anywhere we go since it’s only 55.5g – even lighter than our compact powder of the same size!
