Long live the Bat!
Batman’s 80th anniversary celebration continues even as the year is about to end and for super fans of the Dark Knight, 2019 is the perfect year for a collectible haul from conventions and even from millennial-favorite DC Super Heroes Cafe. The DC Comics-inspired restaurant recently launched a limited-edition set of Batman-themed power banks and speakers which instantly caught our attention. It’s a perfect reminder of how we grew up with the Bat – from VHS tapes to comic books and other exclusive merch!
DC Super Heroes Cafe now houses Ekonic’s Batman 80th Anniversary Power Banks and Speakers, which we first saw at the recently concluded League Con 2019. A celebration of the 80 years of Batman, the Ekonic limited-edition power banks feature iconic illustrations of the caped crusader in action. It comes in four variants (we’re missing one in our photos!) – the official International Batman 80th Anniversary Celebrations poster montage, a special graphic pattern tribute to the many iterations of Batman, the Detective Comics #1000 variant cover by Jim Lee, and as well as his renowned Batman: Hush cover.
Knowing millennials, aesthetics is nothing if it’s not something we can use daily. So to answer your questions regarding battery capacity: These power banks pack a lot of punch with 10,000 mAh and compatibility with the latest devices. They’re built with micro USB 2.1A input and 2 USB (1A and 2.1A) output ports, which allows you to charge two devices simultaneously.
On the other hand, the Ekonic Limited Edition Batman 80th Anniversary Bluetooth Speaker collection features three variants (we’re missing one again!)- a graphic pattern tribute to the many iterations of the Bat-emblem, Greg Capullo’s Detective Comics #1000 variant cover, and Jim Lee’s Batman #615 Nightwing cover.
The speaker can blast music that fills the room with its 3W output. You can stream music through your device with its 3.5mm aux port or even from a distance of up to 10m with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. It promises to last for up to 2 hours, thanks to its 400mAh battery.
Both the Ekonic 10,000mAh Power Bank and Bluetooth speaker are sold at P998 each. If you can’t drop by the DC Super Heroes Cafe in SM Megamall, you can also cop these at Electroworld and Abenson branches for the same price.
ALSO: During the launch, we met Pinoy comic book and Batman illustrator Philip Tan, who was also celebrating with fans!! He’s one of the awesome artists behind DC Comics titles that we see on the shelves. We were even able to score an autograph on one of his Batman-Harley Quinn illustrations! One for the books!
If you’re going to visit DC Super Heroes Cafe soon, we highly recommend you to try their Puddin’ and other dishes in the menu. It’s a treat for DC fans!
