Hey, you! You can now keep up with your fave reality TV shows via hayu

Gone are the days when we need to stream free videos via social media platforms and rely on illegally-copied videos of our favorite shows! We shouldn’t be patronizing such in the first place, anyway. Out with the old, in with the new: A new all-reality, on-demand subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service called hayu is now in the Philippines!

WHAT’S NEW AT HAYU (/hē-yo͞o/)

Aiming to #UpgradeYourReality, hayu – which delivers top NBCUniversal reality content – was introduced to the public last Thursday (October 17, 2019) at Manila House in Bonifacio Global City. This platform has over 7,000 full episodes from over 250 reality TV shows – including full series from the very first season of shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real Housewives, Dance Moms, Million Dollar Listing, and Vanderpump Rules. It may seem like an ordinary streaming platform at first glance, but what’s really nice about it is that majority of the shows debut on hayu on the same day as their US launch. It can also be accessed via mobile, tablet, or web – wherever and whenever you want to watch something.

Binge-watching is also easy peasy as episodes can be downloaded for viewing on the go – which is a very millennial thing to do. This means we can watch episodes of our favourite shows anywhere – from our daily commutes to the gym or the beach. Search functionality and targeted content recommendations also allow us to discover endless hours of content to binge on with quick access to our favourite shows and categories.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring hayu, and its world-class reality TV content, to the community of super fans in The Philippines. We spoke to our potential subscribers and we now know how popular this genre is among Filipinos and how much they love keeping up with the latest storylines and having access to full-length episodes all in one place,” shared Hendrik McDermott, SVP of Branded On-Demand, NBCUniversal International.  “hayu is a great success in 11 other countries and we knew that the Philippines needed to be the next step in our global expansion.”

We feel like the Philippines is quite lucky to be one of the first few countries to gain access to hayu. After all, Filipinos love the drama behind reality TV shows! hayu was launched in the UK, Ireland and Australia in March 2016, followed by Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark in November 2017. Canada and Banelux followed in 2018, and now, they’re here. Where to next?
