This season’s hair color trends + an affordable way to maintain it

Hair color can be a form of self-expression. This is what I tell people whenever someone asks why I color my hair all the time. Bold hair colors can help anyone, may it be to feel good about their appearance or even to stand out of the crowd. No matter what that reason may be, getting colored locks is definitely a must-try for everyone at one point in their life. Contrary to popular belief, maintaining those hues wouldn’t really empty your pockets as long as you know the right products to use! To keep you updated about the hottest colors this season, here’s a rundown of our favorites from the TRESemmé Runway Ready 2019: Color the Runway and a peek at our new product discovery to preserve every strand.

Featuring varying shades of blondes and reds, the catwalk at PICC in Pasay City was flooded with models in powerful hued looks, curated and styled by Daryl Chang and Pam Quiñones last August 29. These two creative directors built head-to-toe looks inspired by the season’s trend and two new collections under the TRESemmé Pro-Color Series – Color Radiance and Blonde Brilliance.

BLONDE BRILLIANCE

Going for a young, vibrant insta-girl aesthetic, models led by TRESemmé ambassador Laureen Uy strutted down the runway in a variety of all-black looks with pops of color, further highlighting the boldness of light blonde hair shades on the runway.

For those who are scared to go full-blonde, having dark roots in a balayage or ombre-like manner have also proven to be eye-catching. It goes well with any hair length, too!

Having wavy and curly hair is also very much sought after, as seen in these chic and vibrant vibes.

Bangs, accompanied by volumized, wavy strands styled by hair experts Suyen Salazar and celebrity hair stylist Mark Familara are also a hit.

And just when you thought that hair color only looks good on long hair, check out these photos of super short hairstyles that are rocking blonde hues!

This is definitely our favorite look in the Blonde Brilliance set.

COLOR RADIANCE

To highlight vibrance on the runway, Pam Quiñones’ Color Radiance Collection showcased powerful, fierce pieces with an underlying sexual energy. The segment featured local designers Carl Jan Cruz, Rajo Laurel, Martin Bautista, Sassa Jimenez, Geoff Gonzales, and Jerome Llorico, and was opened by the newest TRESemmé ambassador, Janine Gutierrez.

The common style in this collection? It’s the slick back and wet look to highlight red and brunette undertones.

This collection would fit those who prefer darker hues with hints of playful tones.

Fierce enough to be your go-to color, don’t you think?

MAINTAINING COLORED HAIR

Believe me when I tell you that going blonde is no easy task. It’s true that it can be pricey at first, but keeping it from getting brassy shouldn’t put a hole in your wallet. I used to order purple shampoo and conditioner from different shops and it can be quite stressful when deliveries get delayed, so it’s really a good thing that TRESemmé Pro-Color Series came up with two variants specially made for colored hair.

The Color Radiance variant takes pride in its Color Radiance Booster – an anti-fade, color-lasting technology. With each use, it is said to lock in color vibrancy by creating a pigment-protecting layer that binds tightly to the surface of each hair strand, making it last up to two times longer.

For blondes who are bold enough to go through bleach and lightening creams, there’s Blonde Brilliance, which is infused with Purple Formula. To extend the life of platinum, gray, and blonde tresses, it tones light hair by cancelling out the brassy, natural warm undertones.

Both are formulated with Jojoba Oil to give colored locks that much-needed moisture.

The Pro-Color Series costs P129.50 SRP (150mL) and P249.50 SRP (300mL). Both are available in Lazada, Shopee, leading supermarkets, drug stores, and department stores nationwide; while Blonde Brilliance is available in Watsons branches nationwide.
