HONOR 600 5G Review: Smarter AI meets all-rounder performance

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in smartphones has often been met with skepticism. For many of us, AI features have felt like unnecessary add‑ons with filters that make faces look unnatural, assistants that rarely understand what we need, or editing tools that complicate rather than simplify. But with the HONOR 600 5G, AI has been taken up a notch. It’s been redefined into something practical and dare I say it: creative, within the palm of your hands. But beyond the new AI features, is the HONOR 600 5G worth considering? Here’s what we found out after weeks of usage:

Inside, you’ll find the smartphone itself, an 80W HONOR SuperCharge adapter, a USB‑C cable, a SIM ejector tool, and a protective case. HONOR makes sure you’re ready to go from the moment you unbox, with fast charging support included right out of the gate.

Design

The HONOR 600 5G is a phone that looks and feels premium without being heavy or bulky. Despite looking like another popular smartphone brand, it just needs to be said that this version of orange doesn’t fade away.

At just 7.8mm thin and 190g light, it’s slim enough for one‑handed use but sturdy enough in case you drop it accidentally. The cold‑carved unibody design and matte metal frame give it a refined finish. The bezels are narrow at only 0.98mm, which makes the screen feel quite expansive for its size. Available in Orange, Golden White, and Black, the HONOR 600 5G is versatile enough to match both the elegance of a pageant night (as seen in their recent Miss Universe Philippines partnerships) and the casual vibe of everyday outfits.

Buttons are located at spots where you’d usually expect them to be in an Android phone, except for the shortcut/camera capture button added to the right side of the device. The placement makes so much sense when capturing photos on landscape mode so it feels more like an actual camera. When taking photos on portrait, it’s already the same level as your thumb, too!

Display

The 6.57‑inch AMOLED straight screen is one of the HONOR 600’s assets. With 8,000 nits HDR peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,840Hz risk‑free dimming, it delivers clarity and smoothness in every scenario. During the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, the display handled stage lights and flashes effortlessly, keeping visuals sharp and glare‑free.

Outdoors, the Sunlight Mode ensured readability even under Manila’s harsh midday sun, while the HONOR Eye Comfort Display reduced strain during long hours of scrolling, editing, or streaming. For millennials who juggle work, social media, and entertainment on one device, this display feels like a reliable companion that adapts to every environment.

Camera

The camera system is where the HONOR 600 5G truly stands out. The 200MP Ultra‑Clear Night Camera with CIPA 6.0 OIS stabilization captures incredible detail, even in low‑light conditions. Covering Miss Universe meant shooting portraits under complex lighting, but the HONOR 600 delivered sharp, vibrant, and true‑to‑life images without the yellowish or reddish casts that plague other phones.

The AI Color Engine intelligently adjusted tones, ensuring that skin looked natural and lighting felt balanced. When zoomed too much, the AI makes the images look too smudged or edited, though, so I would suggest that you don’t use max zoom when in dark venues or concerts.

Supporting this powerhouse is a 12MP ultra‑wide/macro camera and a 50MP front camera that’s great for selfies, vlogs, or behind‑the‑scenes coverage. The front shooter is able to capture natural tones without over‑editing, making it ideal for candid shots–solo or with friends.

But what sets the HONOR 600 apart from its competitors is its AI‑driven creativity. AI Image to Video 2.0 transforms still photos into cinematic clips, which is good for creative social media posts. AI Photos Agent allows you to edit with simple commands like “remove background” or “add warm lighting,” eliminating the need for complicated editing apps. Magic Color lets you apply professional tones inspired by Hasselblad, Leica, or Fujifilm, giving everyday shots a polished, film‑like quality. Even zooming feels elevated thanks to AI Super Zoom 2.0, which maintains clarity at 6x and beyond. Day‑to‑day, this means your brunch photos, pet portraits, or cityscapes look polished without extra effort.

Here’s a sample image-to-video output stitched from three photos:

Storage and Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, the HONOR 600 5G delivers a noticeable boost in performance — 27% faster CPU and 30% stronger GPU compared to its predecessor. Expect smoother multitasking, whether you’re editing 200MP photos, switching between apps, or gaming during downtime. With configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, there’s plenty of room for high‑resolution content, games, apps, and files. HONOR’s AI‑driven performance scheduling ensures that power is allocated intelligently, keeping the phone responsive even under heavy use. Playing Roblox for half a day while constantly having work apps running in the background worked well for me, at least!

Battery

The 7,000mAh battery is also a good addition, offering genuine two‑day endurance even with demanding use. Despite its slim profile, HONOR managed to fit the largest battery in its Number Series history into the HONOR 600.

During my recent coverages, the phone handled hours of shooting, editing, and posting without breaking a sweat. Even at low charge, essential functions like calls and video recording continued to operate normally. Charging is equally impressive. The 80W HONOR SuperCharge gets the phone back to 100% in about an hour, while 27W reverse charging allows you to power up accessories or even an iPhone.

Price and Promos

The HONOR 600 5G is available for Php 28,999 SRP but pre-order can save you a couple of thousands at Php 25,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant. The 12GB+512GB on the other hand, costs Php 37,999. Launch promos include bundled accessories (free HONOR Choice Earbuds Clip worth Php 4,999 and HONOR Gift Box worth Php 1,499) and a chance to win a Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 during the pre-order period. It’s 100% legitimate, by the way. HONOR is known for giving away big prizes such as last month’s Tesla.

Overall, I’d say the HONOR 600 5G redefines what AI can mean in a smartphone. Instead of gimmicks, it offers tools that genuinely enhance creativity, convenience, and confidence. For those who are looking for a balance of style, substance, and smart AI features, the HONOR 600 5G may be a good choice.
