Not everyone needs a smartphone that’s packed with flashy features or cutting‑edge specs. For many of us, the real deal‑breaker is battery life a.k.a. a phone that won’t die halfway through the day. That’s exactly where the newly-launched HONOR X5c shines. It’s a device that may not lead the pack in overall specs, but it delivers something far more practical–big battery and a price point that will not break the bank. Priced at Php 6,999 (promo price Php 4,999), this device packs a massive 5,260mAh battery that can last up to three days.
Design and Display
The HONOR X5c Plus delivers a clean, modern look. Available in Ocean Cyan and Meteor Silver, it’s slim at 7.89mm and weighs around 186g — light enough to carry all day without feeling bulky. Despite having a metallic-like appearance, the Ocean Cyan variant’s finish keeps fingerprints at bay, and the build feels sturdy enough for daily use. It’s the kind of phone you can toss into your bag or pocket without worrying too much about scratches.

On the right side of the device, you’ll find a power button which doubles as a fingerprint sensor for unlocking the screen, and a volume rocker button. While on the left, you’ll find the SIM slot for two sim cards and a microSD.
At the bottom, there’s the usual loudspeaker, USB-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Secondary microphone still sits on top.

In front, the phone features a 6.74‑inch HD+ IPS display with 1080p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. That higher refresh rate is a nice touch at this price point, making scrolling through social media or reading long articles feel smoother. Colors are decent, brightness is good enough for outdoor use, and for binge‑watching on Netflix or YouTube, it does the job.
The only downside for me in terms of appearance is its uneven bezels with the top and bottom being thicker than the sides. It reminds me of earlier smartphone models, but I guess for the price point, you get what you pay for. At the back, the camera module looks neat and premium but IRL, it only has one main shooter.
Camera
HONOR equipped the X5c Plus with a 50MP main camera, a QVGA depth sensor, and a 5MP selfie camera. In daylight, photos are sharp enough for social media posts and casual documentation, but its low‑light shots are less impressive. Zoom also works well ’til the 2-3x mark but anything beyond that starts to look grainy. Same applies to Video Mode with a max setting of 1080p and 30FPS. Stabilization isn’t available so you’ll have to use a gimbal to make shots look better.

Unlike its counterparts which would usually have a Night Mode, the HONOR X5c Plus doesn’t have one. Instead, it automatically makes night photos brighter (sometimes way too much to my liking).

The selfie camera is basic, but it works fine for video calls and quick snaps. If you’re not chasing professional‑level photography, this setup covers the essentials. You’ll just have to accept how it makes you look fairer/whiter than you really are in person, especially when used to take photos indoors.

Storage and Performance

Under the hood, the HONOR X5c Plus runs on a MediaTek Helio G81 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage (expandable via microSD). Performance is quite decent. It’s obviously not built for heavy gaming or heavy multitasking, but for messaging, video calls, browsing, and casual apps, it’s reliable. Think of it as a phone that prioritizes stability over speed. Just make sure to close some background apps from time to time! As for games, I would recommend that you either set it to low or medium graphics to avoid frame drops.
With a MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, it’s pretty much like using any other HONOR phone before. It’s easy to use but note that there are no AI features readily available in the phone.
Battery: The highlight
Here’s where the HONOR X5c Plus truly stands out. Its 5,260mAh battery is built to last up to 20 hours of social media browsing, 61 hours on standby, and around 3 days of typical use.
This endurance is rare in the budget category. Whether you’re commuting, attending classes, working long shifts, or just scrolling endlessly on TikTok, this phone won’t leave you scrambling for a charger. Charging is capped at 15W, which isn’t the fastest, but the trade‑off is worth it since you’ll spend far less time worrying about battery life. HONOR also claims the battery is designed to retain good health even after four years, making it a reliable long‑term option.
Price and Availability

At Php 6,999 (promo price Php 4,999), the HONOR X5c Plus is a practical option in the budget segment. You get a large display, decent camera, expandable storage, and a battery that outlasts most competitors. For anyone who values reliability and endurance over bells and whistles, this phone may be a smart buy.
I would suggest that you consider it if you’re a student who needs a dependable phone for online classes, messaging, and social media; a first‑time smartphone owner who want something affordable but reliable, a budget‑conscious professional who prioritize battery life over premium extras or someone who needs a backup phone that won’t die after a few hours.
The HONOR X5c Plus may not impress spec junkies, but it nails the basics and delivers legendary battery life. For everyday users who just want a phone that works (and keeps working for days) it’s one of the reasonable budget smartphones you can get right now.
