At the heart of the Metro, where the nightlife buzzes with energy, Don Papa Rum recently added a touch of magic for cocktail aficionados – the limited-edition holiday concoctions, Sugarlandia Sour and Merienda Colada. Just in time for the most wonderful time of the year, these unique libations promise to be a sip of the holidays, infusing every night with the enchanting spirit of Sugarlandia.

Don Papa Rum recently transformed the minimalist canvas of Baked Studios in Makati City into the enchanting realm of Sugarlandia. The event celebrated the flavors and passion that thrive in the mystical land between the canes, otherwise known as the island of Negros and home to Don Papa Rum.

As guests were transported to this whimsical world, Sugarlandia creatures danced through the lush flora and fauna, guiding them to the Sugarmill Bar—a space offering an extrasensory experience of Don Papa Rum through aromatic and ritualistic cocktails. Papa Isio’s bar, a centerpiece paying homage to a key figure in the Philippine revolution, featured classic cocktails inspired by his legend and the iconic Don Papa bottles.

To kick the merrymaking up a notch for the holiday season, Don Papa Rum unveiled two special cocktails with a distinctly Filipino twist – the Sugarlandia Sour and Merienda Colada. A collaboration between Audrey Gustilo, Don Papa Rum’s resident mixologist and brand ambassador, and The Black Box Mobile Cocktail Bar, these limited-edition concoctions promise a sip of the festive Filipino spirit.

Sugarlandia Sour

The Sugarlandia Sour, a playful take on the classic Old Cuban, combines Don Papa Rum 7 years old with fresh kamias juice and tamarind cordial. Shaken with ice, this delightful mix is poured into a coupe glass, garnished with Yogurt Popping Caviar, and served in a garden bowl with smoke dry ice—a true embodiment of the season’s festivity and the verdant charm of Sugarlandia.

Merienda Colada

On the other hand, the Merienda Colada offers a holiday twist on the classic Piña Colada, inspired by the traditional Filipino snack turon and ube ice cream. Crafted with Don Papa Rum 7 years old, Ube Cordial, pineapple juice, coconut, and rice milk, this fusion is clarified with toasted soy milk and crowned with white chocolate and kesong puti foam. Garnished with rice milk crackers, banana puree, and a jello infused with Don Papa Rum 7 Years Old and jackfruit, the Merienda Colada is a celebration of uniquely Filipino flavors, encapsulating the essence of a Filipino Christmas.

To share the joy of Sugarlandia, Don Papa Rum has partnered with The Spirits Library in Poblacion, Makati City. For three consecutive Fridays on November 24, December 1, and December 8, the magical world of Sugarlandia will come to life at The Spirits Library, featuring both the Sugarlandia Sour and the Merienda Colada on their menu. Both tastes as good as they look!

Elevate your yuletide celebrations and savor the limited-edition Don Papa Rum holiday cocktails by discovering Sugarlandia at The Spirits Library or by grabbing a bottle of Don Papa Rum from partner retailers like Landers, S&R, Kultura, Ralph’s Wines & Spirits, Boozy.ph, major supermarkets, and more.

Drink responsibly and let the festive spirit of Sugarlandia accompany you throughout the holiday season! Happy Holidays, millennials!
