Internet of Things Conference 2023 Wrap-Up: Igniting digital transformation in the PH

Missed the Internet of Things (IoT) Conference 2023? Here’s a quick overview of what happened during the 3-day conference filled with innovative tech and ideas proudly made by Filipinos!

The IoT Conference 2023, organized by Packetworx Inc, in collaboration with event and community partners and the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT), has successfully sparked conversations about the significance of IoT technology adoption and development across the Philippines. This event, held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from June 26-28, showcased the shared commitment to driving digital transformation and fostering innovation nationwide, with keynote speaker DICT Undersecretary Jocelle Batapa-Sigue shedding light on the future role of IoT in the country.

Attendees were treated to a futuristic lights show as part of the opening, as well as fun booths where they can take videos and photos on IoT-inspired backdrops. Even event usherettes were clad in white futuristic outfits that stood out from the crowd!

Comprehensive Program Covering Key IoT Topics

The conference featured a comprehensive program that addressed a range of IoT topics. Day 1 focused on Smart City and Agriculture, exploring how IoT can optimize urban living and revolutionize agricultural practices. Day 2 delved into IoT for Utilities and Enterprises, uncovering the transformative potential of IoT in sectors such as energy, water management, and businesses. Day 3 explored the intersection of Data Analytics, Blockchain, and IoT Technologies, examining their collective impact on industries and society.

My favorite out of them all would be the tech presentations on how we can prevent microplastics from entering bigger bodies of water. If only all municipalities adopted this innovation, then it would be easier to lessen water pollution all over the Philippines!

Empowering Innovation and Collaboration

Raisa Ysaac-Orbon, Chief Marketing Officer of Packetworx Inc, expressed the significance of the Internet of Things Conference 2023 as a platform for raising awareness about IoT in the Philippines. Through collaboration with community partners, DICT, the conference brought together industry leaders, NGOs, policymakers, and IoT enthusiasts.

“The Internet of Things Conference 2023 is a pivotal event that will serve as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of IoT in the Philippines,” said Raisa Ysaac-Orbon, Chief Marketing Officer of Packetworx Inc, the leading force behind this initiative. “Through the collaboration with community partners and DICT and the participation of Usec. Jocelle, as our keynote speaker, we aim to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and technology enthusiasts to foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.”

Included in the exhibits were a robot hand which imitates your own hand movement captured via camera, new motorcycles and vehicles, and brand-specific tech that make consumers’ lives easier.

Embracing a Connected Future

In an increasingly interconnected world, IoT has emerged as a transformative force, revolutionizing industries and societies. From smart cities to precision agriculture, IoT applications have the potential to enhance efficiency, drive economic growth, and improve the quality of life for Filipinos.

The Internet of Things Conference 2023 served as a catalyst for discussions on IoT’s significance and potential in the Philippines. It showcased the collaborative efforts of Packetworx Inc, event and community partners, and the DICT to drive digital transformation and foster innovation nationwide and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the ideas that have been presented on stage and students’ thesis projects on exhibit.
