Y choose vivo Y73? According to representatives from vivo, the Y73 is, by far, the best camera phone in the vivo Y Series, so we just had to test that out! After all, we all want to make the most out of our budget.
At first glance, the vivo Y73 in Roman Black seems like a professional’s phone – very simple and lightweight, yet the back design remains mesmerizing because of the glossy-matte appearance which they refer to as an “Anti-Glare” surface. The black variant is inspired by the grandeur of Ancient Roman columns, thus the vertical lines on the smartphone. This smooth luxe matte black design helps minimize fingerprint smudging, too!
I also can’t help but notice how slim and lightweight (170g) it is compared to other phones that I’m currently using. It’s only 7.38mm thick – 6% thinner than its predecessors.
However, the vivo Y73’s selling point is actually its camera which includes a 64MP AI Night Rear feature and capability to shoot videos in 4K. There are brands that have removed their 4K video capabilities from mid-range models in order to pull down SRPs further, but not for vivo! The Y73’s camera is also built with EIS Video and Steadiface Selfie Video which keeps our background from moving whenever we try vlogging without a smartphone gimbal.
I still need to test the camera further, but here are some sample photos that I took in the past 24 hours:
I’m pretty impressed with its Night Mode and the glow-in the-dark vibe that it gives our subject. I was sitting inside a moving vehicle when I took that photo but the output was still clear. I have yet to test the Super Night Selfie Mode, so watch out for our review coming up next week!
Considering the price, the specs seem decent enough as this smartphone also comes with a 33W Flash Charge which is capable of refilling your battery up to 61% in just 30 minutes. With minimal usage, I still have 20% of battery after a day of running social media apps on the background, not bad for starters!
