IN PHOTOS: 13 HAIN restaurants to try for a unique at-home dining experience

Once it’s already safe outside, one of the first things that we’d probably do is to dine in restaurants and take a stroll outside. Getting stuck at home with no choice but to order food for takeout and cook every day is an absolute bummer and it’s affecting local businesses as well. In an effort to help boost support for small and independent food establishments during these challenging times, UNKNWN recently launched a unique dining experience called HAIN: Takeaway, Together in Metro Manila.

Hain (pronounced as “HAH-een”) is a Tagalog word which refers to the manner of setting food on the table and they aim to kickstart HAIN’s first edition starting today (September 17, 2021). Starting today until September 19, 13 restaurants in Metro Manila will be ready to serve special curated menus and set meals exclusively for the event.

Participating restaurants, along with mouthwatering photos of their meals are listed below:

Angel’s Kitchen

The Bowery NYC Comfort Food

Lampara

OTO

Borough

Nic’s Park Terraces

Hai Shin Lou

Futur:st

Square One Hospitality

Cheech & Chang Hong Kong Roasts

TETSUO

Mijo Comfort Food

The Bistro by Element Boutique Hotel

Our meal from Angel’s Kitchen tasted so good! We received a Softshell Ctab Salad with Mango Dressing, Signature Lamb Curry with Mint Apple Chutney, Molten Choco Lava with Basil and Strawberry, Rice, and a Singleton 12YO Pocket Single Malt Scotch.

HOW TO ORDER?

These curated set meals are available on HAIN’s official website (www.hain-mnl.shop) for P1,500. The price is actually reasonable already as we’ll be receiving a full meal and even a complimentary Singleton of Dufftown 12YO Pocket Single Malt Scotch.

These will be available until the last day of HAIN weekend on September 19th.

WHY ORDER?

15% of sales from the HAIN weekend will go to Rise Against Hunger PH in support of their projects to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies.

HAIN has partnered with revolutionary indoor farm Future Fresh to provide the participating restaurants with hydroponically-grown and pesticide-free greens. HAIN is also working with upcoming events IFEX Philippines and Sustainability Solutions Expo (SSX) to provide sustainable food packaging throughout the weekend. IFEX Philippines is the banner event for the food trade sector while SSX is poised to be the country’s leading platform for sustainable products, solutions, and technologies for MSMEs in the food and lifestyle sectors. Both events are organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

A HAIN video-on-demand (VOD) accessed via the HAIN kits, will also take diners into an in-depth journey about HAIN, highlighting the offerings of each restaurant as well as the enriching stories.

Worth supporting! Let’s help local businesses – starting with HAIN, to thrive even as we spend the rest of the year at home. 🙂
