When we talk about “models”, there’s usually a specific type of appearance and body type that comes to people’s minds. Slim, foreign-looking, long–legged, and all that — that’s not the case for IKEA Philippines, though! With the announcement of their search for the first magazine cover model, IKEA (pronounced as AYE-kee-yah) is calling on aspiring models of all ages and sizes, may they be serious, crazy, nerd, funny, fluffy, huge, tiny – they don’t mind – anyone can be the next cover model of the first IKEA Philippines magazine just in time for their local launch.
In preparation for the opening of the first store in Pasay City, IKEA Philippines is producing a magazine, which will contain the brand’s milestones and inspirations. IKEA wants to feature Filipino families or individuals on the cover, so they thought of posting an open invitation to everyone who wants to try their luck. Five families or group of friends, or even individuals will be selected to be on the printed and/or digital cover of the magazine. Selected participants will also receive P30,000 worth of IKEA shopping vouchers, which I believe will serve as a “talent fee”. Not bad if you ask me! Entries to the search will be collected from June 15-30, 2021 and winners will be announced on the IKEA Philippines Facebook page.

HOW TO JOIN
- As the entry uploader, make sure that you’re a Filipino, aged 18 years old and above. You can be joined by anyone – regardless of age, in the photo.
- Go to IKEA.ph, fill out the form, and upload a photo of you and your family/friends’ life at home, together with an explanation about why you want to be on their magazine cover.
- Entries have to be submitted between June 15-30, 2021 (11:59:59 PM) in order to qualify.
- Ensure that your photo meets the following criteria: Authenticity (50%) and Visual Fit (50%)
