SNEAK PEEK: realme Buds Q2 to be launched in the PH on May 20

Our search for a young and fun-looking TWS (True Wireless Stereo) is finally over. realme is slated to bring the realme Buds Q2 here in the Philippines on May 20, 2021 and I’m so stoked as this TWS isn’t just limited to white or black! Although it’s available in Unique Black, I’m super happy to see a Unique Blue variant, which isn’t a common color for audio devices. As a millennial who loves vibrant or pastel-like hues (like the realme C25), the aesthetics of the realme Buds Q2 is a clear winner.

Before its official launch, here’s a sneak peek at its appearance, as well as some of the main specs that we got to check out early this week.

The product comes in the usual realme-yellow box with an image and name of the product in front. You’ll also find additional details at the back. Inside the box, you’ll find the charging case and earphones, a user guide, 2 extra silicone eartips, and a yellow micro-USB cable.

For now, I can only talk about the aesthetics and connectivity as I haven’t fully tested out this TWS yet.

Incorporating the cut-shape aesthetic of kaleidoscopes into the earbuds’ cobble-shaped design, the realme Buds Q2 in Unique Blue stands out from the rest of the TWS devices in the market. It’s super smooth, just like the realme Buds Q! It’s also very light at only 39g. Putting it in your pocket or bag won’t be a hassle as it’s also very compact. A single headphone is as light as 4.1g, even lighter than an A4 paper, and very comfortable to wear on the ear for a long time.

Case and earbuds look darker when used under yellowish light. Still pretty, though!

Since I received this on a work day, I was able to use the device on both my laptop (a Mac, to be more specific), a non-realme device, and a realme mobile phone. Connecting it was such a breeze, but it still works best on mobile phones with a realme Link app. Through that app, I was able to explore the audio features and customize the command gestures to my liking.

What we know so far:

  • It has noise-cancelling technology
  • It’s IPX4 water-resistant
  • Available in black and blue colors
  • Uses a microUSB for charging
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Weighs 4.1g (earphones) + 30g (charging case)

We’ll have to test the audio performance first before giving our feedback, but full review, complete specs, and price will be up on this blog soon, so keep checking back for updates! You may also watch the official launch on realme Philippines’ Facebook page on May 20 at 6:00 PM.
