For people on a budget who still want quality makeup products, Maybelline Fit Me is no stranger. In fact, this has been one of the go-to brands for those who are looking for long-lasting lightweight yet full coverage liquid foundations. Just when we thought we had the best already, Maybelline recently announced that this holy grail is now made better with a fresher formula – now with mattifying clay that can help control oil and keep users feeling fresh and shine-free for up to 12 hours. As a Maybelline user, I take their word for it, but of course, I took the liberty to test it out and swatch the other shades to see if I can use it for contour and highlighting.
WHAT’S NEW?
But first, let’s see what’s new: According to online marketing materials from the brand, the Fit Me Matte+ Poreless Liquid Foundation has a mattifying clay for oil control and it’s infused with SPF 22 PA+++, which the previous formulation lacks. However, this is still recommendable for normal to oily skin just like before.
There are minimal changes in the packaging but it still comes in a 30mL glass bottle with a pump on top to ensure that the unused products are kept clean and unexposed. The labels have a slightly different design now and you’ll be able to notice the “SPF 22” label immediately in front. At the back, the complete list of ingredients can be checked underneath the label but the list is a bit longer now than the previous formulation.
ARE THE SHADES GOOD FOR FILIPINA SKIN?
With 20 different shades to choose from, anyone can surely find a shade that can fit their skintone. I was able to swatch 9 out of 20 on my arms (apologies as I won’t be able to swatch by my neck/chin due to my eczema issues), but there are 11 other shades to choose from. Here are photos of the swatches and when they’re blended:

Since the Philippines is a tropical country, using products with SPF (in this case, SPF 22 PA+++) is a good move for all-day sun protection. The products is blendable, buildable, and it has really good coverage. It can cover redness around my eyes and even the moles on my face.
IS IT REALLY GOOD FOR 12 HOURS?
The Fit Me Matte+ Poreless Liquid Foundation leaves a matte finish, so I opted to add highlighter and contour parts of my face for a bit of dimension. I was able to shoot content, attend meetings, and do household chores – which made me sweat, but the matte foundation is still intact. It’s not waterproof, though, so I won’t suggest that you wipe your face thoroughly. Gentle pats on your face to wipe off sweat will be enough to keep your makeup intact.
Right after application 3 hours after 7 hours Around 11 hours after
Towards the 11th or 12th hour, I started to notice a bit of oiliness – although it’s not super visible in the photo. My t-zone easily becomes oily but during my test run with the Fit Me Matte+ Poreless Liquid Foundation, I didn’t even have to! That’s one of my favorite things about the Fit Me line – it doesn’t easily budge. It refines your pores, leaves a seamless finish, and looks natural even though it’s matte.
Each bottle is being sold for Php 399 in-store and online, but you can purchase one for a lesser price here for a limited time only. For more details about the new formula, you can also visit bit.ly/MaybellineFitMeFreshfor12.

Note: Apologies for swatching on my arm instead of my neck, I’ve had eczema issues for the past few weeks so I’m not allowed to put makeup on top of my medicated ointments. 🙁
