5 Ways to celebrate Halloween without leaving the house

Making last-minute costume preparations for a sudden costume party in Makati or BGC is so 2019! Welcome to 2020, where we are mandated to stay at home – no matter what the occasion may be. However, it’s not every year that we get to celebrate Halloween on a weekend, so might as well make the most out of it and make it a reason to have some fun at home. Here are five suggestions to keep our spirits up this long weekend:

1. Dress up… just for fun!

We’ve been in pyjamas and workout clothing for over six months in quarantine! How about using Halloween as an excuse to look “extra” tonight, put on some ghoulish makeup, and snap photos for that #Halloween hashtag on Instagram? You can also video chat with friends while drinking booze at home. Time for an online party!

2. “Trick or Treat” yourself and go online shopping

No kid is going to knock on our doors to go trick or treating tonight so how about we treat ourselves by going online shopping instead? Here’s a “trick” to convince yourself that you deserve it: You can get a 15% discount from Zalora when you pay using your PayMaya virtual or physical card! Just use the code PYMY2020 upon checkout.

For more choices, you can also check out The Sm Store via Call-To-Deliver and #ScanToPay using your PayMaya account for up to 100% cashback, plus an additional Php 100 Balik Bayad when you spend a cumulative amount of Php 2,500 on October 31! That will also automatically qualify you for their motorcycle raffle.

3. Munch on Halloween treats

We’re not talking about candies, though! Establishments like Army Navy, Burger King, Domino’s, and Boozy are offering Halloween treats for PayMaya users, too. Get up to 100% Balik Bayad (cashback) for every purchase, plus an extra Php 100 Balikd Bayad for purchases amounting to Php 2,000 on October 31.

4. Celebrate by playing online games

For the gamers, it’s easy to get in the festive mood with Halloween character skins and in-game events. As a treat, you can also get 5% Balik Bayad from PayMaya (with a maximum of Php 100) for every Php 300 spent on gaming pins. Plus, you’ll also receive a raffle entry for a chance to win a year’s worth of gaming pins!alloH

5. Go virtual trick-or-treating

It’s almost Christmas anyway, so why not give a little gift in place of candies? Let your inaanak feel the joy in trick-or-treating by sending digital vouchers to their mom or dad’s account through your PayMaya app? Sending prepaid load gets you 5% Balikd Bayad, and extra Php100 Balik Bayad when you spend an accumulated total of Php 600 on Smart and TNT prepaid load until November 17.

These are not much but they’re worth considering when you can’t think of anything else to do at home this long weekend. Skipping all the spook because this year already spooked us enough with tragic events. Anyway, treat yourself this weekend! You deserve it. Happy Halloween!
