Devices are becoming smarter and smarter as the years go by. However, with added smart features, expect the price to go up as well! Since it’s been a while since I last checked out something that isn’t smartphone or laptop-related, I took this opportunity to document my unboxing experience and first impressions on this premium wireless audio device created by Huawei and co-engineered by Devialet – the Huawei Sound X!
The price may seem shocking at first, but once you get to know what it can do and how convenient it is to connect devices without worrying about cable connections (aside from the power cable), the premium price will start to make sense. To be honest, this is the first time that I’ve tried using a speaker that only requires one tap for instant connection. It’s easier than going through the trouble of looking for a Bluetooth name or detangling multiple cables just to connect your laptop, smartphone, or TV.
Partnering with Devialet, a global audio brand that enjoys unique reputation for its premium High-Fidelity products, was also a good move since Huawei isn’t really known for their speaker designs.
The Huawei Sound X plays audio via Wi-Fi, a process that leads to much less data compression, and fewer lag or latency issues than Bluetooth transmission. That is built on its self-developed technology – EMUI 10.1 Multi-Device Control Panel which is similar to Apple’s Airplay, can transmit high-quality audio whether online or local from Sound X speaker to a Huawei smartphone.

This Huawei-Devialet joint wireless speaker was launched alongside the Huawei P40 on March 26, 2020 and it’s still available in Huawei stores nationwide for Php 19,990, but I highly suggest that you follow their pages for updates regarding upcoming promos and discounts.
