Note: Excuse my face in the thumbnail, I had to try ’em on before writing this, of course!
We’re not yet over the recent GUESS x 88rising collab but the iconic fashion brand has already brought in another collaboration with a music superstar! This Spring 2020, it’s reggaeton recording artist J Balvin‘s time to shine with his colorful Colores collection with GUESS.
If you need a bit of refresher, Latino singer J Balvin is the voice behind songs like Mi Gente with Willy William and RITMO (Bad Boys For Life) with Black Eyed Peas. He has received four Latin GRAMMY Awards in the past, so we’re sure you’ve already heard of him! Colores is actually the second iteration of his vision to complement his 2020 aesthetic sonically and sartorially. J Balvin is further expanding his role in the creative and design process with GUESS – which will now feature even more pieces for men, women, and kids.
Remember this? Yup, that’s him!
According to our friends from GUESS Philippines, the new collection is inspired by J Balvin’s Colores album which will be released on March 20. Coming from the album title, expect to see a lot of red, yellow, green, blue, and purple tones into each piece, weaving J Balvin’s latest venture into this fashion capsule.
Here’s what our award-winning singer has to say about the collaboration:
“It provided wonderful creative inspiration to envision a new album and corresponding new fashion collection together from the beginning – both connected to how I’ve been exploring new music through a lens of individual colors,” shares J Balvin. “It has also been very exciting to shoot the GUESS x J Balvin ‘Colores’ campaign in the city where everything started for me – to have this huge global campaign with GUESS, spotlight the vibrancy of the people and culture of Medellin. It is another opportunity to show the world how beautiful and amazing Colombia is, and the surging artistic vibes throughout the city and country.”
Expect to see the full collection in stores and online via guess.com.ph starting June 26, 2020*. For now, you can join us as we swoon over the remaining 88rising pieces in stores. We just can’t help it!!
Update: Launch date was moved to June 26 instead of April. 🙂
