Realme C3: Does it really have what it takes to be a #TripleCameraGamingMonster?

It’s official, the realme C3 is finally available nationwide for only Php 5,990! As promised, we’re sharing the complete specs and our review of this new entry-level mobile phone that promises to be a #TripleCameraGamingMonster.

The realme C3 is the latest addition to the realme value C-series and albeit being an entry-level point at a very affordable price point, this light-weight phone (at 195g only) is already backed by the world’s first 12nm Octa-Core MTK MediaTek Helio G70 for a fast and smooth gaming experience. With a 5000mAh battery, you can also last as long as 10-11 hours of non-stop gaming (PUBG, Dragon Nest, Mobile Legends) with minimal lags and heating.

OUR TWO CENTS:

Mini-drop Full Screen for Better Focus

Eyes on the prize! It’s easier to win a game if you have a better view of the field, right? With more screen space, it’s easier to spot your enemies and identify your next move. The 6.5-inch screen gives us less visual disturbance not just while playing games, but also in binge-watching our favorite series.

Non-stop Gaming

Without a doubt, an entry-level mobile phone like the realme C3 is a force to reckon with in its level. We were actually stoked to try it for ourselves after leaning about its specs. After testing out the camera and having only around 50% of the battery left, we were still able to play different games around 5 hours straight from simple games like Worms.io (while in transit) to Mobile Legends (at home) and World of Dragon Nest (majority of which was on auto-pilot). We only noticed minimal lags and heating during our gameplay.

Triple Camera Realness

At its price point, realme 3’s camera is also good enough. It performs well outdoors and under bright lights, but it still needs some help with night shots. Despite having Panorama, Ultra Macro, Expert, Time-Lapse, and Slo-Mo settings, realme C3 lacks a Night Mode which may have made it the real deal.

Realme C3 has an AI triple-camera setup with a 12MP main camera, 2MP portrait camera, and 2MP macro camera. In front, you’ll find a 5MP AI camera which supports professional-level bokeh, portrait mode and panoselfie. The panoselfie option can be a bit tricky at first as well because it doesn’t go super wide like that of the main camera, but it isn’t really much of an issue.

Pretty and tough on the outside

Yup, I’m calling it pretty because even though the realme C3 doesn’t come with a phone case, I feel like I won’t be putting one any time soon. With a Sunrise Design that beautifully reflects light, the Blazing Red and Frozen Blue colors never fail to be an eye-catcher.

For intense gamers, no need to worry about it getting damaged because it uses a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, plus it’s splash resistant and has been designed with a port-sealing plastic cover. All the ports in the phone are tightly covered and splash-proof in case you want to play while lounging by the pool. Just don’t drop it, of course!

Even tougher on the inside

Not everyone may be sold with MediaTek, but it’s actually performing well now. Realme C3 uses the first MediaTek Helio G70 processor – which is the best in the segment, an ideal choice for mobile gamers with an efficient, high performance ARM Mali-G52 GPU. In fact, it has a 179k AnTuTu benchmark score.

In addition, realme C3 also has a MediaTek Gaming Technology which mitigates network latency and a Display Latency Optimization for faster response time and accurate screen control.

In the Philippines, the realme C3 will only be available in the 3GB+32GB storage variant; however, storage is still expandable up to 256GB via SD card.

Protecting your progress

It’s really irritating when other people use your phones to play games. It would either affect your ranking or make you lose hard-earned coins or whatnots in your apps. To prevent this from happening, realme C3 has different security measures in place – Face Recognition, Rear Fingerprint Unlock, and a Pass Code.

Triple security measures, triple camera, triple gaming fun!

Is it a #TripleCameraGamingMonster?

At the price of Php 5,990, it’s a YES for us! That’s a beast-type of phone for a very affordable price. It’s a force to reckon with and I doubt if we can find something of this level really soon. Even though it’s lacking a few things, remember that we’re comparing it to other entry-level phones and not flagship phones. Otherwise, you’d have to pay for over Php 15k or more for extra features.
