Summer’s here! Time to slip into those beach sandals for some outdoor fun! But of course, we can’t avoid the fact that we still need to hustle at work to get some ka-ching for our summer adventures. For quick footwear choices for both situations, you can always check out Annie & Lori – an artisanal shoe brand that takes pride in its stylish sandals made here in the Philippines!
Some might have heard about their online shop (annielori.com) and pure-leather pairs before as it’s really quite popular with stylish celebrities and even beauty queens like Kylie Verzosa, Kelsey Merritt, and Katarina Rodriguez. Now, we can feel what it’s like to literally walk in the shoes of these personalities as Annie & Lori recently opened its first store at the Upper Ground Floor of Alabang Town Center’s New Wing. Unlike ordering online, you can now fit the sandals of your liking before checking them out.
To kick off the grand opening celebrations last April 6, Annie & Lori introduced three designs as part of their summer collection – tangerine-hued strappy slip-ons called Chloe and Tamar, and a pointy-toed slip-on called Meghan.
Both Chloe and Tamar are open toe sandals that feature thin straps made from cow leather. With extra heel cushions for added comfort, they are ideal for long walks on the beach and for errand-filled summer days.
Meanwhile, Meghan, the newest addition to Annie and Lori’s collection, is a very classy and minimalist closed toe slip-on that features a low-heeled open back. It carries Annie and Lori’s signature minimalist stitching, which perfectly complements the chic cut of the top panel of the sandals made also from cow leather.
“We’re excited to introduce Annie and Lori in the south. We’re confident that our classy and minimalist sandals will perfectly complement the modern living and laidback lifestyle of the fashionable women here,” said Faith Mijares, creative director and founder of Annie & Lori.
As someone who loves supporting local products, it makes my heart beam with pride – knowing that these stylish designs have been conceptualized in the Philippines and that the brand gives opportunities for Filipinos to work on items that are also being shipped to Australia, Indonesia, and New Zealand. World-class talent right before our eyes!
There’s more to love about this brand, too! They also care about the environment, so they make sure that sourced materials are ethical and has minimal carbon footprint. Wouldn’t the world be a bit better only if we had more brands like them that balance style and social environmental responsibility?
Check out some of the designs that caught our attention during the store opening:
I already have a pair of Crostinini (P1,800) but I’d definitely come back for more sandals like Stella and Adriana. It’s so hard to choose from all the classy designs, it took me almost an hour just to finally decide on something. Before buying, make sure to have enough cash with you as each pair costs around P1,800 to around P2,500.
