BLACKPINK Deadline Tour in Bulacan Day 1: A Filo BLINK’s full concert experience recap

The Deadline World Tour finally brought KPOP girl group BLACKPINK back to the Philippines! And they didn’t hold just one, but two back-to-back concerts at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last November 22 and 23. Thousands of Filo BLINKs filled the venue, waving their pink lightsticks, jumping, and dancing to the beat of every BLACPINK song. As a proud BLINK, I couldn’t help but soak in every moment just being a few steps away from Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and my bias Lisa! As a quick recap of all the highlights (although let’s admit it, every moment is worth remembering in their presence), here’s a list of everything that we loved about Day 1:

1. The group performances

BLACKPINK opened with Kill This Love and followed it up with crowd favorites like Pink Venom, How You Like That, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Shut Down, and newer songs like JUMP in between their solo performances. The synchronized lightstick waves and deafening cheers proved why they’re global icons. They also didn’t fall short when it comes to interacting with the fans, especially Jisoo who really kept running back and forth to the front part of the stage more than anyone else and we love her for that! Rosé, on the other hand, was like their main speaker who kept giving a shoutout to Filipino fans whenever she can. Lisa was thy hype girl who kept the crowd pumped up and Jennie just straight-up served swag throughout the concert. Their backup dancers were also on another level!

2. Solo stages that showed their personal flair

Since they now have their own albums and projects outside BLACKPINK, they gave equal time for each other’s music to shine. Jisoo brought Earthquake (one of my personal favorites) and Your Love. As for Lisa, it’s a mashup of her recent songs, including New Woman and Rockstar.  Jennie showed everyone how’s it like to be like JENNIE and sang her Mantra with a mix of with the IE. Lastly, Rosé showed us her vocal powers with number one girl, Toxic ‘til the End, and her hit song APT where she invited an audience member to come up on stage and jam with her!

3. BLACKPINK saying “Mahal ko kayo talaga” (I really love you)

Hearing Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa say “Mahal ko kayo talaga” melted every Filo BLINK’s heart. It was a simple phrase, but it made the connection between idols and fans feel even more special. I think Jisoo said it in the most Pinoy way possible, but the other three also did well and sounded so cute doing so! Listen to it here:

4. Rosé eating turon before singing

While Lisa and Rosé briefly mentioned how they loved Philippine mangoes, what caught everyone by surprise it Rosé’s uniquely Filipino moment: Biting into a turon backstage before going out to sing! It was a sweet nod to local culture that fans loved.

5. BLINKs shouting “tubig” for Rosé

When Rosé paused mid‑song because of her cold (though I think the turon is also partly to blame!), Filo BLINKs immediately shouted “tubig!” in unison, showing genuine concern though it’s a bit funny because our number one girl didn’t quite understand we were shouting. It was a funny yet heartwarming reminder of the bond between fans and idols.

6. Lisa kissing Rosé on the cheek

Although this has happened already in their previous shows, this has got to be one of the cutest moments of the night: Lisa kissed Rosé on the cheek, sending ChaeLisa hearts soaring as we saw it happen in person! The crowd erupted in screams, proving how much fans adore their friendship. If I’m not mistaken, she did it twice!

Sadly wasn’t able to take a photo of that moment so here’s another ChaeLisa interaction instead.

7. BLINK unity during fan requests and JUMP

Fans sang along to every track, and the energy peaked when everyone literally jumped during JUMP. BLINKs also requested Tally, which BLACKPINK agreed to sing, though they saved it for Day 2. Still, the interaction showed how much they value what their fans want to hear.

So to everyone saying that Jennie performed better the next day because Day 2’s energy was better than Day 1, no need to compare. You got something that we initially requested for and we’re not pointing fingers. JSYK.

8. Photobooths inside and outside the arena

BLINKs didn’t just enjoy the music, we also had fun capturing memories (and TikTok videos). Photobooths were set up across multiple floors, giving fans the chance to pose with lightsticks and outfits before heading inside. There was even a pink tricycle in the VISA booth! Too bad I wasn’t able to get a proper photo because every site had crazy long lines.

9. Exclusive merch drops

They have everything from shirts to accessories! The merch booths were buzzing with fans eager to grab limited‑edition items inside the arena, but some fan groups also gave away fan-made ones outside. Many proudly wore their new gear during the show, turning the arena into a sea of BLACKPINK fashion. They even sold cowboy hats that the girls wore in the segment videos.

10. The VISA x Maya booth freebies and lounge

The VISA x Maya booth was a hotspot outside the arena. We all scored freebies ranging from exclusive merch to handy concert essentials, plus a free lounge where everyone with a limited-edition BLACKPINK x Maya Pink Glitter Card could rest inside an airconditioned booth before the show. It was the perfect pre‑concert hangout, though we weren’t able to try it anymore due to how jam-packed the booth was in the afternoon. Still got to enjoy their pink and black photo spots, though!

From the fun performances to the heartfelt fan moments, Day 1 of BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour in Bulacan was unforgettable. With Maya making the logistics smoother and the VISA x Maya booth adding extra fun, Filo BLINKs walked away with more than just concert memories. You could feel it in the air! This wasn’t just another night, it was one for the books.

P.S. The concert was so fun, but if you ask me honestly, Philippine Arena is probably the worst venue. Though this is another story for a different post. Let’s focus on the good parts for now! <3
