8 Signs it’s time to start your fitness journey at Spartans Boxing Club BGC

It’s been a year since I seriously began my fitness journey and while it has been fun, I can’t help but look for other activities to help me cross-train and develop other skills. I have a lot on my list – from bouldering, bungee jumping, hiking, to boxing. But since we can’t do it all right away, let’s focus on something accessible: Boxing!

While people equate boxing to hardcore sports a la Manny Pacquiao, it’s actually an all-encompassing fitness experience that builds strength, endurance, and confidence even for beginners. If you’ve been considering stepping into the ring like me, Spartans Boxing Club in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) might be a great place to start. I got the chance to join their first anniversary celebration and I must say that it’s definitely unlike any other fitness studio I’ve been to. This future-ready gym from Singapore combines traditional boxing training with cutting-edge technology and a strong sense of community.

To give you a glimpse of what made me want to sign up for a membership, here’s a short list:

1. Tech-enabled classes to level up your training

Spartans Boxing Club takes fitness to the next level with technology-enhanced classes. The gym features punch bag sensor technology and impact wraps that track punch volume, power, speed, and even heart rate. This data-driven approach allows you to measure your progress in real time, just like having a personal coach monitoring every jab and hook.

Don’t worry, though! If you’re not yet ready to leave the tracking to tech, you can always request for a one-on-one session with Spartans’ coaches, which brings me to reason #2…

2. Seasoned coaches

For beginners like me who still don’t know the 101s, expert coaches will be there to guide you through every step of your boxing journey, placing emphasis on progression, footwork, and technical skills. Although they look muscular and strong and all, they don’t give off an intimidating aura at all! Plus, they’re super friendly and they won’t judge you even if you get confused what a jab is vs a hook. Each session is designed to help you improve efficiently while ensuring safety and proper form. I’ve only had a few minutes of sparring with Coach Alvin during the anniversary classes but it was enough to keep me looking forward to joining group classes.

3. Fully equipped gym

Another thing I love about this boxing club is the availability of everything you need, from bottled water to boxing gloves! No need to buy your own equipment if you’re not up for long-time commitments. They have high-quality boxing gloves, yoga mats, free weights, bands, kettlebells, and punch bags that you can use anytime. The gym also boasts a boxing ring for sparring sessions and four air-conditioned showers, ensuring a comfortable post-workout refresh. They also have lockers, btw!

4. A fun and inclusive community

Beyond the workouts, Spartans Boxing Club Managing Partner/Owner Christina Maningo proudly shares that their community is all about creating a welcoming environment for fitness enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced boxer, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a supportive and diverse community that shares a common passion for fitness, fun, and wellness.

Imagine a place where you can just drop by to say hi to your friends and coaches for a quick chat even though you won’t be working out. It’s on that level of welcoming!

5. Classes tailored to your skill level

As a beginner myself, I’m worried about not being able to keep up or having the wrong form in front of a whole class. However, Spartans Boxing Club’s coaches assures everyone that they can tailor-fit movements based on your skill level if you joined a big class. They also offer classes suited for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, so you can ease into boxing at your own pace while still being challenged and motivated by professional trainers.

6. A holistic wellness experience

More than just a gym, Spartans Boxing Club fosters a holistic wellness approach by partnering with brands like Raya Clinic, Pro Stretching, and OCA Collective ice baths. Their anniversary celebration showcased this commitment by offering a full-body recovery experience, from stretching to nutritious treats. While the ice bath and drip station are not a permanent staple yet, we heard that partnerships and collabs are in the works!

7. A brand-new Strength & Conditioning class

For those looking for an extra challenge, the gym has introduced a new Strength & Conditioning Class that doesn’t involve punching bags. This program blends strength training with endurance exercises, helping you build power, stamina, and mobility while focusing on safe, effective techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or an athlete, this class will push your limits.

I was able to try it during my visit and it involved a mix of running both inside and outside the premises, stretching using bands, burpees, push-ups, weights, and more movements that would definitely keep your heart pumping.

8. Affordable membership packages

Lastly, our favorite question: How much is it? High-quality training doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Spartans Boxing Club offers flexible and affordable membership plans, ensuring that boxing remains accessible to everyone, regardless of their fitness goals. A 3-month membership (plus 1 month free) costs Php 14,700, while 6 months (plus 2 months free) costs Php 27,000 while they’re on a promo!

If any of these signs resonate with you, it might be time to lace up your shoes, strap on your gloves, and begin your boxing journey. Spartans Boxing Club BGC is more than just a gym—it’s a place where technology, training, and community come together to help you reach your fitness goals.
