TechLife Smart Watch L1: Making fitness tracking, on-the-go calls simple

TechLife Smart Watch L1: Making fitness tracking, on-the-go calls simpleEver since I started my pole and aerial journey, I’ve become more conscious about my health and fitness. This prompted me to continuously move, workout, and take classes seriously despite still having two freelance jobs on the side (and this blog). This has made me miss calls and urgent notifications as I can’t hold on to my smartphone while moving. Good thing there are budget-friendly smart watches like the recently launched TechLife Smart Watch L1 which enables us to look after our health and movements while still being able to take calls through the very small watch screen.

This budget-friendly smartwatch, which only costs Php 1,999, brings a lot of features that make it worth considering whether you’re at the gym, on the aerial hoop, running outside, or simply staying active throughout the day. Here’s a look at all the features I found useful:

Fitness tracking tailored for all workouts

Although the TechLife Smart Watch L1 doesn’t specifically list aerial arts as a workout option, it compensates with over 110 fitness modes that are suited to complement an aerialist’s training regimen. From flexibility and conditioning exercises to cardio, aerobic routines, and even dance, this watch offers versatility in tracking workouts, making it useful for anyone who engages in physical activities that require stamina, strength, and even grace.

Filipino-favorite sports are present, including basketball, badminton, basketball, and popular ones like pickleball, bowling, and golf. Dance enthusiasts will also find this handy, especially with specific modes for street dance, ballet, folk dance, group exercise (where the likes of Zumba fall under) and gymnastics. For those intro fight-style trainings, there’s Tai Chi, boxing, judo, martial arts, and more. While for those who prefer a calmer way to stretch, there’s yoga, relaxation and meditation, foam rolling, balance board, and free training. Connectable to Google Fit and you can check your running route via app, too!

No need to worry about sweat or water getting into your watch, too! The Smart Watch L1 has IP68 dust and water resistance, which gives you the peace of mind that it can keep up with your routine, no matter the conditions.

Comprehensive health monitor

While moving – workout mode enabled or not — this smartwatch also continuously records your heart rate, calories burned, and overall activity levels, providing insights to optimize our training. The built-in heart rate and blood oxygen monitors also alerts us when the numbers are getting way too high or low, ensuring we move safely, even during high-intensity workouts. Based on my experience, the monitoring also automatically stops when the heart rate reaches alarming thresholds set via the OnWear Pro app.

Like other smartwatches, this also alerts you to hydrate every hour (or as often as you set it on the app) and move around when it detects that you’ve been stationary for too long. For the ladies, menstrual health can also be monitored discreetly on both the smartwatch and app.

As for recovery, you can also monitor your sleep daily just by wearing the smartwatch to bed. It automatically analyzes how many hours you spent under deep sleep, light sleep, or rapid eye movement when our muscles relax the most. It’s also smart enough to detect when you wake up in the middle of the night, giving you more insights on what time disturbances usually happen and when you’re not getting enough rest.

Clear display, stylish watch faces

The TechLife Smart Watch L1 is equipped with a 1.96″ Curved AMOLED display which shows vivid colors and details even when used under the sun. The curved design not only enhances the look but also provides better visibility, especially when you’re on the move, whether you’re mid-air on an aerial hoop or taking a breather between exercises. It’s just the right size and shape for someone with thin wrists, too! The larger display also allows you to view fitness stats, notifications, and messages without squinting, so you won’t miss out on important data or communication while training.

For a change, I got the TechLife Smart Watch L1 with a silver silicone band, but it’s also available in black. While it easily gets dirty, the good thing about having a light-colored band is that you’ll have more motivation to clean your band regularly. This is complemented by over 200 stylish watch faces that you can match with your outfit. I prefer using the Dynamic Watch Faces, which you can pre-load by visiting the OnWear App. They also have holiday-specific watch faces for the likes of Halloween, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Christmas, to name a few.

Connected 24/7 with Bluetooth Calling

This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but as a freelancer who has to be on the lookout for urgent messages and calls (that’s how we are in the media and advertising industry), I need to be consistently reachable so the Bluetooth Calling support of the TechLife Smart Watch L1 is something that I find super helpful. In between workouts or aerial sessions, I can take calls directly from my watch, so there’s no need to reach for my phone which has to be left inside the locker. The smartwatch also gives you the option to take the call via the smartwatch or your smartphone. Plus, it’s not only incoming calls that you can take! You can also MAKE calls just by using the keypad, accessing call logs or adding frequent contacts to the smartwatch. For busy people like me who struggle with juggling training, work, and social life, this feature adds a layer of convenience.

Beyond Fitness Tracking: Games, Music, AI, and more

If not the health and fitness features, my favorite part about the TechLife Smart Watch L1 would be the pre-installed classic games. This is the first time that I’ve encountered a smartwatch that helps me keep the boredom away even without WiFi connection! There’s 2048, Jigsaw Puzzle, Racing, and Discoloration accessible anytime. Note, however, that progress cannot be saved once you exit the game.

The TechLife Smart Watch L1 also has the usual stopwatch, meditation, find my phone, flashlight, alarm clock, music control, camera control, weather monitor, and AI Voice Assistant functions. And with 7-day battery life, you won’t have to worry about frequent charging interrupting your daily routine.

Price and Availability

The TechLife Smart Watch L1 is now available nationwide for Php 1,999.

If you’re looking for a budget smartwatch that can keep up with an active lifestyle (in my case, from aerial training to everyday tasks), the TechLife Smart Watch L1 is definitely worth checking out.
