The wait is over! Filipinos are in for a treat this 2024 as Southeast Asian womenswear brand (and one of my personal favorites), Love, Bonito, has officially announced the opening of its first brick and mortar store in the Philippines. Expected to launch in the third quarter of 2024, the store will be located at Greenbelt 3, Makati City, offering a physical space for shoppers to indulge in the brand’s latest collections. If you remember our previous posts, we did mention that the brand held pop-up shops in different locations in 2023 and it seems that Makati’s crowd won the brand’s heart!

Following its recent rebranding, Love, Bonito is ready to introduce its newly unveiled identity and revamped assortment strategy to the Philippine market.

“After five years of shipping to the Philippines, we’re thrilled to announce the opening of our very first permanent store here,” shares Rachel Lim, Co-founder of Love, Bonito. “Throughout these years, we’ve cherished every connection made through events and collaborations, feeling deeply inspired by the warmth and support of the community. With our upcoming physical store, our Filipina customers can now experience our collections firsthand, join workshops, styling sessions, and be part of our vibrant community events.”

Dione Song, Chief Executive Officer of Love, Bonito, also expressed excitement about the expansion, highlighting the brand’s rapid growth in the Philippines over the years: “The Philippines remains one of our fastest growing markets, with a constant double digit year-on-year growth since 2019.”

Sneak Peek: First capsule collection

While waiting for the store’s grand opening, you can continue to shop for versatile styles on Love, Bonito’s PH website. The brand is also gearing up to launch its first-ever capsule collection post-revamp, complementing its core Signatures and Staples lines.

Debuting this month, the capsule collection draws inspiration from ancient Chinese philosophy, yin yang. Embracing the interconnectedness of complementary contrasts, this collection is a juxtaposition of looks where masculine meets feminine, and where dark blends with light. The beauty of the collection is encapsulated in its versatility to suit multiple occasions.
