It’s still too early to make a full review but we just can’t contain our excitement over the upcoming realme 8, which is set to be launched in the Philippines on May 11! To keep you hooked, here are some features to watch out for, along with a look at the items inside the box.
WHAT’S INSIDE THE BOX?
The realme 8 contains the usual items inside its classic yellow box, but these contain upgraded features. Inside, you’ll find the smartphone with an eye-catching design, a clear protective jelly case, a sim ejector tool, a user guide, a warranty information sheet, a 2-pin 30W Dart Charger, and a USB Type C cable.
Features mentioned outside the box include its 64” Super AMOLED Fullscreen, 64MP AI Quad Camera, 30W Dart Charge, and slim design. The specific unit that we’ll be reviewing soon is in Cyber Silver color – an extra reflective futuristic-like design that we haven’t seen on any brand before.
WHAT’S NEW?
Let’s start with the design – the back of the smartphone has the words “Dare to Leap” in bold reflective letters, which is definitely a scene stealer when you compare it with other devices. It has a USB Type C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, and loudspeaker grills at the bottom part. The SIM and microSD slots are on the left side, while the volume rockers and power button are on the right.
The 64MP AI camera is housed on the upper left side, forming a square which is a bit embossed – making it easy to scratch if ever you accidentally drop it. I think it would be best to put the case on it for safety. Although the design is something that you should be wary of, there are new features in the realme 8, such as the photo and video modes, that motivates me to test it further.
On top of the Panorama, Time-lapse, Text Scanner, Dual-view Video, Slo-mo, Expert, and Ultra Macro modes that are usually available in devices, the realme 8 has a Movie Mode for wider videos and a Starry Mode for moon and sky shots at night. There are also new trendy portrait modes to enjoy in this smartphone – the Neon Portrait, Dynamic Bokeh, and AI Portrait.
Sample shots can be viewed below:
These are just portraits, but we’ll be uploading more sample shots from its 64MP camera in the next update. We’ll get into the technical parts like the full specifications, battery, and performance soon, too!

RealMe has been producing quality phones as they keep in track with different brands that are budget friendly but comes with full packed specs. This will definitely be up ahead with the upgrades in its camera and video modes. This will be a great phone if it will be playing with 12K to 15K price range.
