Now that we’re done with the scary Halloween runs, it’s time to put the spotlight on our dear furry pals. RED Sports, under RED Entertainment, started the month of December with Animal Run 2019, which is dedicated to runners and their fur babies who would like to bond over challenges and a fun run in support of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and Dialysis PH Support Group. In partnership with Purina Philippines, #Run4UrLife’s Animal Run 2019 was definitely a success with almost a thousand runners and a thousand more onlookers because who would be able to resist looking at these cute canines prancing around the race track?
Animal Run 2019
Filled with almost 500 fur babies, Quirino Grandstand was filled with fur and excitement last Sunday (December 1, 2019). With PAWS as their main beneficiary, the sporting event was set to help stray animals that remained caged in shelters. Veterinarians Dr. Adelaida Suller and Dr. Froilan Calip conducted free check-ups to fur babies present at the event while giving away free Supercoat from Purina Philippines.
Zumbathon
As every race category prepares to do their runs, they were invited to a Zumba warm-up lead by Coaches Johnrev Sayson Binondo and Paolo Domingo from Anytime Fitness. Of course, our precious doggies also joined in the fun! They even had treats from Purina!
Pet Fashion Gala
Pets also did their own version of a “cat walk” ala fashion show in hopes of bringing home the crown in form of pet treats! Although not all participants won, they all received packets of Supercoat from Purina Philippines. We spotted Daschund Basha dressed up as a mini Santa Claus, ready to give delightful gifts to nice kids and cold coals to naughty ones!
Mini Pomeranian mother-and-daughter duo Chow and Cinnamon, along with Shih Tzu Coco, dressed up as mini dinosaurs, while Shih Tzu Oreo dressed as a butterfly – ready to dazzle the judges and fly away! Shih Tzu twins Yumi and Curtis, dressed in their winter jackets, also ran up and down the stage as they accompany their adolescent owner. So adorable!! Meanwhile, the only muse Persian Kitten Snow just sat in the middle of the stage, unbothered by everyone’s antics.

The brand also had their own photo booth where pets took turns at a slide fit for every breed.
Dog Food Eating Challenge
As a major sponsor, Purina had their own segment during Animal Run where they hosted a Dog Food Eating Challenge. Eight fur parents encouraged their babies to eat as fast as they can! All participants received packets of Supercoat from Purina as a consolation prize.
We’ll be practicing as early as now. Hopefully, we can bring our cross-breed Tuffy to the run next year! She’s still shy around other pets but let’s see if we an also win prizes from Purina by then.
