Success is a blend – of whisky and challenges

We, Filipinos, are probably the best example when it comes to discussions about resilience. No challenge is ever too big to face as long as we’re still alive. Some even turn to good old beer or whisky to either get things out of their head or celebrate triumphant moments! This is probably why Chivas, a pioneer in blended Scotch whisky, came up with a new global campaign called “Success is a Blend”. This belief that blended is better – in life and in Scotch – was actually instilled by founding brothers James and John Chivas.

To bring the campaign to life, and to root it in the Filipino context, Chivas Regal Philippines introduced twins Richard and Raymond Gutierrez as its newest brand ambassadors. Scions of celebrity parents who have lived their lives under the spotlight, each of the brothers have paved their own way within and beyond the showbiz industry, and made a name for themselves in their own right.

Guests at the launch of this new campaign at One Canvas Events Place in Makati City last Wednesday (October 24, 2019) were also asked about their own success stories and of course, we had to share our little victory that is linked to drinking! It may seem like a funny thing to say amidst an entire album of people who took it seriously, but there was a point in life where we had to get our kidneys checked, partly due to weekly alcohol intake without water. Remember those YOLO days? I had enough. I stopped drinking and learned how to add a blend of healthy practice here and there to keep myself functioning properly. Life is indeed a blend and too much of any aspect can have adverse effects! Well, here we are now, celebrating small wins with a reasonable amount of Scotch in hand. Drink responsibly!

We tried to replicate the taste of Chivas by combining Smoky, Fruity, and Creamy flavors but it was just so challenging to replicate!

Blended is better, indeed. Contrary to popular opinion that whisky is a tito drink, this Shaken Dreams whisky blend is actually better than the usual bar drinks!

Guests at the launch were also treated to chocolates and truffles with a mix of whisky. How cool is that?
