We all know that young boy who turns into a powerful superhero by simply shouting “Shazam!”. However, do you know what will happen to regular food if it knows how to scream the same words? Head to DC Super Heroes Café at SM Megamall in Ortigas because we recently discovered 6 new delectable dishes that seem to have been zapped by the same divine powers within Shazam.
For those who are not that familiar with the nitty-gritty details, Shazam is a fictional DC superhero who used to be known as Captain Marvel. He first appeared in comic books in 1939, taking form when 14-year-old Billy Batson shouts the magic words – Shazam! This charming and funny hero will be flying his way to the big screen this April, so better fuel up with yummy food that has great powers.
The 6 new items on the menu are after the 6 powers within Shazam – traits of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury. Here’s what to expect in every treat:
WISDOM OF SOLOMON

What is it: Beef Kebab
Description: A meal prepped for a king! DC Café’s take on beef kebab served with their homemade pita bread and grilled tomato and onion.
STRENGTH OF HERCULES
Price: P780
What is it: Baby Back Ribs
Description: An 18-hour sous vide pork baby back ribs, seasoned with special dry rub, and smothered in homemade smoky BBQ sauce. This is served with grilled corn and buttered vegetables on the side.
STAMINA OF ATLAS
Price: P180
What is it: Mango Float
Description: A sweet medley of ripe mangoes, cream, and cashew nuts layered in graham crackers for dessert. It’s topped with a lightning symbol, worthy of a true DC fan.
POWER OF ZEUS

What is it: Grilled Porkchop
Description: A sweet and savory Porkchop grilled to perfection- just like how Zeus would’ve wanted all his meals. This is served with mashed potatoes and smoked on the spot.
COURAGE OF ACHILLES

What is it: Honey Butter Drumstick
Description: Deep fried drumsticks coated in honey butter glaze. Crispy and flavorful! One order is good enough for up to a group of 4 unlikely heroes.
SPEED OF MERCURY

What is it: Macaroni Soup
Description: In a hurry but need something filling? This hearty chicken macaroni soup served with grilled baguette and homemade chicken liver pate is right for your fast paced diet. You can also grab some before your main course since you can finish it in a snap.
Every serving will make you want more but we recommend you to bring your squad with you and share everything so you’ll have enough room for other dishes.
