A few months ago, I wrote about how I stumbled upon Next Upgrade — a new online shop for smart home finds and essentials, as I found their page super helpful in finding products that I need for a specific room or category. The smart projector came in a regular-sized box with a remote, its cable, and a quick guide. Although to be honest, you would easily be able to operate the item even without the manual. Everything is very straightforward!

As for the smart dumbbell, all the parts came in one box but each item was carefully enclosed in a plastic together with the manual and charging cable. The weights are not yet attached upon delivery but I guess this is to prevent the plates from getting scratches while in transit. It’s easy to assemble too– just twist the plates onto the handle and that’s it!
Equipped with sensors to track reps and calories burned, the smart dumbbell syncs to a fitness app for real-time data. It’s lightweight yet durable, making it ideal for beginners like me who want to build a smart fitness corner at home.

My favorite packaging out of all the Crabtek items– the Crabtek Smart Jump Rope! This comes in a slide-out box which has a pouch, manual, USB Type-C cable, and jump rope inside. Unlike the smart dumbbell, this is very light and easy to bring with me when traveling . The handles are comfortable, and the app integration encourages you to hit your fitness goals with ease.
It works like a normal jump rope except for the part where you can connect it to an app so it can track your jumps, calories, and workout duration for you, offering data-driven insights for your workouts. Plus, you can compete with other smart jump rope users on who can get the most jumps per day or per week! Although it has a lot of features, you can still use it even if you forgot to charge it.
4. Mi Camera 2K (Magnetic Mount)

When I received this parcel, I didn’t think it would be security cameras because of its small size but after unboxing it, I realized how unnoticeable it can be so the size is just perfect. The box comes with a camera, a thick manual in all languages, a magnet, and a cable. Since the base is magnetic, you can set it up vertically or horizontally and position the camera at your desired angle.
For indoor security, this camera delivers crystal-clear 2K resolution with a wide-angle view. Its magnetic base makes installation a breeze even on walls or shelves. It also has two-way audio and motion detection, which sends alerts straight to your phone. It’s a practical and affordable way to secure your home’s interiors.
5. Xiaomi Outdoor Camera AW200
Price: Php 1,373
Of course, outdoor security is just as crucial, so I also got the Xiaomi Outdoor Camera AW200 which comes in a slightly bigger box but the contents are almost the same– the camera, a thick manual, cable, and a couple of screws to drill it in place. Pretty straightforward and easier to setup than the Mi Camera 2K because it’s in English.
According to its description, the AW200 has a weather-resistant build and excellent night vision. It captures sharp images even in low light, making it good for monitoring driveways or gardens. Like the Mi Camera 2K, it also supports app integration for real-time monitoring. More about each item’s long-term performance coming up in the next few months!
