Laptops usually cost a fortune, but no matter the price tag, most of us don’t treat our laptops like we’re about to lose a month’s worth of our paycheck. That’s why the new ASUS Expert Series — ExpertBook PM3 Series, ExpertCenter P500SV desktop, and ExpertCenter P400 AiO were built not just for performance, but for real-world durability.
At the recent launch event, ASUS Philippines didn’t just talk about durability, though! They showed it on stage and allowed guests to even test the laptops out ourselves. We got hands-on with live demos that proved these laptops can take a beating and keep going. Here’s what they survived:
- PANEL PRESSURE TEST: 28kg of simulated luggage pressure on the screen (yes, like being squashed in a packed suitcase). We stood on its screen laid out on the floor as if it’s a mat! Nothing happened.
- PORT DURABILITY TEST: 8kg kettlebell hanging from a USB port to mimic years of plugging in and out
- DROP TEST: 120cm drop onto concrete, because accidents happen
- HINGE DURABILITY TEST: 50,000 hinge cycles, simulating over a decade of daily use
- KEYBOARD SPILL-RESISTANT TEST: 405cc water spill on the keyboard (that’s more than a grande latte), giving it a good bath before typing on it.
- RUMP PRESSURE TEST: 50kg squashing force on the lid and base, just in case someone sits on it. In our case, we smashed a pen in between the screen and keyboard and guess what? It’s still working! No scratches or screen damage at all!
- TWIST TEST: 50,000 chassis twists, like when you grab your laptop one-handed on the go
- KEYBOARD DURABILITY TEST: 10 million keystrokes, enough for 6 years of heavy typing
And that’s just the start! These devices also passed Military Grade MIL-STD-810H certification, meaning they can handle extreme temperatures, humidity, altitude, vibration, and even sand and dust. You might be wondering how that’s relevant, so here’s a sample: It’s like ensuring your laptop would be okay even though you’re working in a freezing office at one point and then stepping out into the scorching heat of the PH sun after!
Aside from durability and the fun marketing stunts, these laptops are also equipped with speed and smarts. Some highlights that caught our attention for each include the ExpertBook PM3 Series‘ 14-inch and 16-inch models, powered by AMD Ryzen AI 7 processors with up to 66 TOPS of AI performance. Translation: it’s fast, smart, and built for multitasking.
The ExpertCenter P500SV desktop, on the other hand, is a quiet powerhouse with up to an Intel Core i7, optional discrete GPU, and support for 64GB DDR5 memory that would be suitable for demanding workloads.

ASUS claims that this lineup is “Trusted by IT Experts, Built for Worry-Free Business”, and it shows. These devices are designed for professionals who need reliability, security, and flexibility whether it be for running a startup, managing a corporate fleet, or outfitting a government office.
