QUICK LOOK: Huawei Nova 5T full specs, first impressions

Good camera? Check. Nice design? Check. Strong enough to handle mobile games? Check. Affordability? Check!

An ever-changing lifestyle calls for a versatile phone that can quickly keep up with a user’s changing interests over time. To be honest, such phones are quite hard to find if we’re talking about a price range that is student-friendly. However, we’ve found just the right mix of the essentials that we’re looking for in a phone last Saturday (August 14, 2019) during the Huawei Nova 5T launch at SM North EDSA.

Biases aside, the Nova 5T is the only mobile phone (so far) that has a quad-camera at the rear, a front camera with 32MP, a 3750mAh battery with fast charging, and a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980 just like the P30 Pro’s for P18,990 only. We’re hoping that this game-changer will dare other brands to follow suit and deliver more than what is expected for a more budget-friendly price.

We haven’t tried playing games using the Nova 5T yet but we’re taking Mobile Legends player and fan-favorite Akosi Dogie’s word for it.

For the price ng Huawei Nova 5T, you’re getting a lot more. So ‘yung mga mahilig mag-mobile games d’yan – PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: ‘Di ka makataas ng rank dahil nagla-lag ‘yung cellphone mo? Huawei Nova 5T. Hindi ka na magla-lag, hindi ka na magdrop range, ‘tsaka malakas signal, 5G, you have it! Lahat lahat ibibigay. Pina-try ko sa pro-player ko, akala n’ya 50K worth itong cellphone na ‘to,” shares Dogie about the new phone that he’s using. “Huawei changed the game of mobile phones right now and pang-masa ‘to. Ibang klase, guys.

First of its kind, the Nova 5T Midsummer Purple also has an exquisite look. The word “Nova” has been creatively printed as part of the holographic design, giving off a unique eye-catching glare at any angle. This is actually the favorite of their new endorser, James Reid. Fun facts about his phone will be up on our page in the next few days!

At first, I personally thought that the Nova 5T is just an ordinary budget-friendly phone. By “ordinary”, I mean a phone that has features that are at par with its price. The Nova 5T delivered more than what we expected for a phone worth P18,990, though. It seemed too good to be true at first so we spent time looking for loopholes, but once you see it up close, there’s a high chance for you to be convinced and make a switch in a snap – just like how we felt during the launch.

For someone who needs to take photos and videos a lot, the quality of the photos and videos from the Nova 5T is at par with the output that we need on social media. Huawei representatives even dared to compare it with the output of a DSLR – which is a brave move! This mid-range phone is currently leading in our list for 2019!
