This Milk Peel Cream Mask with AHA, BHA only needs 30-60 seconds to work its magic!

Millennials are known for their ability to multitask and drive to pursue multiple passions in life. This is why most in our age group have fully booked schedules and little to no time for pampering. While skin care routines usually require a lot of time, there are new options out in the market that only require a minute in order to work its magic on our skin. One of which is Althea’s Milk Peel Cream Mask which already contains AHA and BHA – two of the most sought-after extracts for exfoliation.

This clay-to-foam Milk Peel Cream Mask is said to be suitable in treating enlarged pores, rough and sensitive skin that needs exfoliation, and dry skin that needs to stay moisturized even after peeling. We tried out the product for you so you can see if it’s something worth adding to your cart this holiday season!

INGREDIENTS + EFFECTS:

There has been a hype for brands that market its AHA and BHA extracts here in the Philippines but it tends to be drying on the skin, so it’s good to know that this Milk Peel Cream Mask is packed with a lot of moisturizing properties from milk.

  • AHA & BHA – Active ingredients which help to peel off dead skin cells for a smoother skin.
  • Casein Protein (milk) – Provides moisture for the skin.
  • Soft clay-like texture – Bubbles up when massaged on damp skin to cleanse the pores.

It’s also worth noting that it’s cruelty-free!

Full Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Glycerin, Disiloxane, Bentonite, Propanediol, Myristic Acid, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Stearicacid, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Potassium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Palmitic Acid , Ethylhexylglycerin, Milk Proteinextract, Disodium Edta, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Gluconolactone, Glycolic Acid, Titaniumdioxide (Ci 77891), Fragrance (Parfum), Coumarin*, Hexyl Cinnamal*, Citronellol*

HOW TO USE:

This product is very easy to use. It’s like a facial wash, except for the part that you need to leave it on your skin for a little longer. It comes in an easy-pump bottle and you’ll only need around 3-5 pumps for your whole face.

  1. Apply the product on damp skin and massage it gently until it becomes bubbly.
  2. Let it sit on your skin for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Rinse it off preferably with warm water.

REVIEW:

Let’s start with the packaging. The Milk Peel Cream Mask comes in a simple pump bottle which is a good idea, especially since cream masks in tubes tend to have messy nozzles in the long run. My only worry about the packaging is that you cannot see if you have a lot of cream left, so you’ll have to rely on your gut and in the weight of the bottle.

For the effect, I’ve been under the impression that all products with clay-like texture are automatically masks that need to be use for over 5 minutes. That’s why I’m impressed that Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask turns to a foam – almost like a shaving cream, that only needs 30-60 seconds to work. Although you can use it over the recommended time, leaving it on your face for more than that may cause stinging sensations – at least on my skin. I tried to extend its stay on my skin because I noticed how good the product works in removing oil in an instant.

Even though I woke up with an extremely oily face (which is new) after the first night of using the product, it didn’t happen again in the succeeding days. Maybe that’s just my skin’s reaction to the new ingredients. Of course, as a precaution, it’s best to check with your dermatologist first if ever AHA and BHA are suitable for your skin type. I love how it doesn’t have a strong scent, too, since I’m allergic to products with a strong smell.

My pores still look the same after two weeks of use but I can attest that the Milk Peel Cream Mask was successful in leaving my skin soft and supple after every wash.
